One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone doesn’t answer a question.For example, if I said..”Is there any ice cream left?”
They might say…”There was a bunch yesterday.”
This stuff DRIVES ME CRAZY! The only answers are …”YES”…”NO”…”or I DON’T KNOW!”
I know…I know…it’s not really a big deal in the real world…That’s why I used the word “peeve.”
Have you ever been “burnt”, or “taken”, or “suckered” into something?I have. It happens all the time. I’ve made bad investments, bought cars I shouldn’t have, had friends turn out to be different than I thought they would be. I’ve been taken advantage of because of my faith and my desire to be a good person. I’ve been taken advantage of by other Christians! Can you believe that?
You? My guess is you can relate.
Doesn’t it drive you crazy? Don’t you want to make sure it never happens again?
I was once told that a definition of leadership was “letting people down at a rate that they can stand.”In some ways, I get that. I think there is a bit more to it but…for sure…one of my jobs as a leader is saying “no.” I say it all the time.
Here’s my problem…I love saying “yes.” I’m still a people pleaser.
I was at a wedding recently. It was a great wedding. Great Bride…whom I know and love. Great Groom…who I met at the wedding. Great Family…one that I watch and learn from every time we get together.
I spent the weekend watching and wondering about what was going on in the mind of the nine year old son of the groom.
He was in an interesting situation to say the least.
