Coachshef turns 6…

well…6 months that is.

And, I’m celebrating in style. My three kids are in the hotel room here sleeping and I’m working in the bathroom.  Seriously…I moved the desk chair into here and my computer is teetering between the sink and some freshly washed baby bottles.  It’s the only way I can make sure not to wake them up…so, I went for it.

Anyway, I promised myself I would give this blog thing 6 months and, yesterday on the first leg of our trip, I realized, I missed June 4th!  That was 6 months in.  I’ve learned a ton about blogging and met a bunch of people through this thing….and in short.  I love doing it.

We’ve also had some pretty good success.  This is mostly due to John Saddington on this end.  With this mind for this stuff he has equipped me in both technology and strategy.  Thanks John for all you do.

On your end…well it’s mostly due to you.  Thanks for coming on over and reading this stuff. I’m always amazed at just who and how many show up!  I’m in great company for sure.

Now I have a decision to make and I wanted to share it.

Lots of you, including John, have said that the next step is to post more often.  The advice is that a daily post or two would move us up into the “blogosphere”…whatever that is.  And, to be honest, I would love to do that.

It’s just not going to happen right now.

It can’t happen without me giving up something.  My time with God, my family, and my job are not options.  The only other option is seminary.  Hmmm……

It’s tempting to give up seminary to be honest.  I have been doing this a long time, and though I love it most of the time, I’m tired.  BUT…I can see the light!  I will be done in January!  Pray that I make it…and do it well.  I literally have to find 75 minutes in the next couple of days to take a timed test on the Trinity during my vacation.  I’m praying our next hotel has a nice little office area…3 kids under 7 in the room = failed timed DTS tests!

So…here is what I hope happens in the next 6 months….realistically.

1.  I will continue with this schedule of two posts a week.

2.  Look for a couple new additions to the site.  We’ve talked about a job board, reading lists, etc.  Those should be no problem and will appear randomly.

3.  I need to re-categorize and re-organize. John told me that my main three categories would rise to the top…Wow-was he right.  I have no idea when this will happen…But it needs to.

4.  I’m going to continue moving toward a Coaching Network in the fall.  I will also limit the 1-on-1 coaching to maybe one more person.

5.  I want to be a super husband, a great dad, and a good employee.

That’s the dream!  Thanks so much for your support over the first 6 months.  I hope you’re having half the fun I am with this stuff.  We’ll talk about this again in January.
